AeroPress Guide

WHY AEROPRESS?

Aeropress makes very crisp and light tasting
coffees. Unlike the french press, no oil or residue
from the coffee beans are in the final cup. The
immersion time is also significantly less than a
french press. Therefore a clean cup of coffee is made.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

Electric Kettle • 16g medium ground beans • Scale
Aeropress paper filter • Hot water - 93 degrees Celsius •
Coffee server • Cup

Preparation Time: 4 minutes
Servings: 1 cup (approximately 250ml)

Steps
1. Prepare the AeroPress
- Place a filter into the bottom black cap of the AeroPress.
- Screw the cap back onto the AeroPress chamber.
    2. Preheat and Rinse
    - Pour hot water into the AeroPress to preheat it and rinse the filter.
    Discard this water.
      3. Add Coffee Grounds
      - Measure 16g of medium-ground coffee beans and place them into the AeroPress chamber.
        - Shake the chamber gently to level the coffee grounds.
          4. Start Brewing
          - Set your timer for 1 minute and 50 seconds.
          - Start the timer and pour 150ml of hot water (around 80°C to 85°C or 175°F to 185°F) into the AeroPress.
          - As you pour, slowly rotate the AeroPress to ensure even saturation of the coffee grounds.
            5. Initial Steep
            - Allow the coffee to steep for 1 minute.
              6. Add More Water
              - After 1 minute has passed, quickly pour an additional 100ml of hot water into the AeroPress (totaling 250ml).
                - Place the AeroPress plunger on top, without pressing down, to keep the heat in.
                  - Wait for another 30 seconds.
                    7. Plunge the Coffee
                    - At the 1 minute 30 seconds mark, slowly press down the plunger with even pressure.
                      - Use your other hand to stabilize the AeroPress on top of your coffee server or cup.
                        - The plunge should take around 20 seconds to complete.
                          8. Serve and Enjoy
                          - Once you’ve plunged all the coffee, give the coffee a gentle stir.
                          - Pour the brewed coffee into a glass or cup.
                          - Enjoy your freshly brewed AeroPress coffee!

                            Tips for the Perfect Brew
Use fresh coffee beans and grind them just before brewing for the best flavor.
Adjust the grind size and brewing time to your taste preference.
Ensure water is at the right temperature to avoid scalding the coffee and to bring out the best flavors.

Feel free to adapt the recipe to your taste and enjoy the rich flavors of AeroPress coffee!
